Truancy

Fayette County Children and Youth Services is contracted with tow Diversion programs that specialize in dealing with truancy issues. Each provider is responsible for providing services to a identified population (Elementary, Middle School, and High School). Each provider will follow the signed order from the Fayette County President Judge that establishes one County Truancy Protocol.  Beginning January 1, 2019 Fayette County CYS established a truancy outreach program and is currently in the Uniontown Area School District, Laurel Highlands School District and Albert Gallatin School District. This takes the place of the diversion programs in this school district. NOTE: Regardless of which program a referral is being made to, there should not be a report made to CYS regarding truancy unless a referral was made to one of the truancy diversion programs.
