Becoming a Foster Parent
Foster parenting may be the most significant yet most rewarding challenge you and your family will ever undertake on behalf of children in need. If you can provide a child with a stable, loving home environment, consider becoming a foster parent.
Who is Eligible?
To be a foster parent, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Be in good physical and mental health
- Be able to meet your family's financial obligations
- Have a stable family relationship
- Have respect and caring for children and families
- Have housing that provides a safe and healthy environment
- Accept the temporary nature of foster parenting
Children and Youth Services contracts with many agencies to provide foster care services in Fayette County. Please contact the agency of your choice for further information.
