[ARCHIVED] Living Well Coalition Hosting Wellness Fair

Wellness in the Meadow

The free event will feature both traditional and holistic health vendors.

TRADITIONAL AND HOLISTIC WELLNESS TO BE FEATURED AT WELLNESS IN THE MEADOW EVENT

Local organizations are bringing together both traditional and holistic health to create a wellness event

in Uniontown, PA called Wellness in the Meadow. The free event will be held on September 10 from

11am-4pm at Meadow Valley Venue located at 39 McCormick Avenue in Uniontown. The agenda

includes yoga and fitness, blood pressure, pulse oxygen, and heart rate checks, health organization

exhibitors, handmade vendors, and speakers on healthy living.

Event planning began last winter with the hopes of bringing a traditional and holistic health fair to the

Uniontown area similar to popular events held in other local cities. Leann Beatty, owner of OmBody

Massage and Wellness in Uniontown has had a vision for this event and found a unique venue at

Meadow Valley, “I wanted to bring the community together to promote health and wellness in a way

that featured all of the different aspects of what wellness truly means.”

Through a partnership with the Fayette Living Well Coalition and the Fayette Chamber of Commerce,

this inaugural event now has almost 40 exhibitors/vendors in addition to some excellent opportunities

to learn and move while attending.

Wendy Gaither of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce and Reach Marketing and Design has been part of

the event's planning committee. “With our county's focus on the Fayette Living Well Coalition, the Blue

Zones Project, and bringing more comprehensive wellness to Fayette County, we are excited to be

planning this event. When you come, you’ll find everything from physical therapists, bereavement

specialists, and nurses to soap vendors, organic farmers, and massage therapists. If you have questions,

most likely someone will be here to help you improve your health and wellness. We are planning a fun

day!”

Lee Winterhalter, Prevention Supervisor at Fayette County Drug and Alcohol Commission who is helping

to sponsor the event, is encouraged by the event’s local reach. “Wellness touches so many areas

including addressing addiction in Fayette County. Our goal at FCDAC is to enhance our community’s

quality of life through promoting addiction free living and so the Wellness in the Meadow event is a

wonderful opportunity for us to share all the different ways we are available to the community for this

purpose.”

In addition to workshops and vendors, the event will also have food vendors, yoga classes, a dedicated

children’s area for them to learn and play, a live painting, music, and a basket raffle with proceeds

benefitting the Fayette Living Well Coalition.
