Order / Notice to Withhold Income for Support

In accordance with Federal mandates, the implementation of the revised "Order/Notice to Withhold Income for Support" will be issued beginning June 16, 2000. The form contains standardized data elements that help employers deduct child and medical support payments more efficiently.

As current Court Orders are modified, employers will receive the revised Order/Notice to Withhold Income for Support. Attachments currently in effect remain in effect. The Domestic Relations Section staff extends our thanks to all employers who continue to cooperate with securing support for the children of Fayette County.

When a defendant is delinquent with an order of court, there are various legal actions that may be taken to encourage compliance with the order. The legal actions that may be taken are called remedies. Types of enforcement remedies include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Bench Warrants
  • Contempt Conferences
  • Contempt Hearings
  • Credit Bureau Reporting
  • Driver’s License Revocation
  • Enforcement Conferences
  • Income Withholding
  • Liens
  • State and Federal Tax Refund Intercepts
